On July 17, 2008 - I was on Huang Shan
I remember the bus trip to the foot of the mountain with local Chinese families carrying bags filled with food and water, wanting to make the ascent on foot. Mind you, this wasn't some tiny hill but a ascent of at least 6-8 hours straight of stairs and total uphill. We rolled our eyes in amazement.
I remember taking the cable car to the back of the mountain. Carrying our heavy overnight packs up the slopes and the stairs to our hotel.
I remember how during the night, there was a mountain wide black out, where there was no emergency power and how the entire mountain was pitch black. I remember how it was a full moon that hot summer night.
I remember the wonders of carrying our heavy packs doing the descent down the mountain from the front.
I remember the mobs of people squeezing on that tiny mountain steps just inches away from the cliff with nothing in between.
I remember the beauty of the place and yet wishing that it was a much easier trip because after that we were so wiped out..

The 10 10 10 ROM
Beautiful Day .. .Another one Bites the Dust
The morning preparation of (Bitter Gourd, Sore Throat Medicine with Crackers, Lemon Concentrate Jelly, Lime Wedges, Whipped Cream, Capsicums stuffed with Wasabi / Chili Padi)
One Pinata with keys ..
It was a beautiful day, from the early morning at the house to the church wedding to the gorgeous banquet at Carlton Hotel. Here's to a happy ending of forever and ever..
Spotted ...
Spotted ...... at a Macdonalds Dessert Bar somewhere in Singapore.
Simple to follow instructions for full dollar impact. Classic case of up-selling to your consumers. Clear and concise for the basic teller to use. My only issue with this was your customer shouldn't be seeing this >.<
Attended ... National Ballet of China at the University Cultural Centre
It was my first ballet. But even a novice like myself can say that they were amazing. Showcasing their talents in various segments from classic ballet, modern dance to even a dance segment from a communist classic. It was something to remember for a long long time.

Taipei .. The City of Night Markets
I kind of had enough of night markets. The clothes always seem too small or young, the food always seem good but not satisfying after a while. But it is fun to browse and munch every once in a while, plus after ending working at 830pm, it was the only place that i could think of being open. I remembered the instructions to the cab driver (nearest night market!) and off i went..
Spotted a rainbow from the top of Taipei 101 - new office
Taipei 101 - at night ..
Night market !
Smelly doufu ..
Chicken Backside ! (Or qi li xiang)
Spicy fish balls
Found a japanese food stall in the street market. I was pleasantly surprised for one. Then surprised again by the boiling pot of food next to the raw fish for sashimi.
Shaved ice - ingredients - yam balls, dumplings, sweet potatoes, good good stuff.
Traditional shaved ice machine... just like our ice kachang
Taipei, Taipei, Goodbye Taipei

A Walk Down Taipei City
After working for a full week, i finally had 2 hours free on Sunday, decided to go for a short walk down Taipei City. Making my way from my hotel to Taipei 101, i did not manage to walk the full stretch (damn you, rain) but it was still a good experience.
I had always found the rows and rows of scooters just adorable ..
Emerging from the suburbs to the city ..
The red, brickish buildings that i see scattered around the city.. Very charming..
Found a small farmers market in the park on a Sunday..
Stopped for lunch ... and it started raining afterwards..
