I spent the first day in NY on foot, but initially I had some teething issues & walked in the wrong direction. But even wrong directions could prove to be right when i spied a Gucci bag in a thrift shop. 25 USD!
Dropping the bag off, i headed for the Rockefeller Centre & Radio City tour. When the tour ended, i was thrilled by the beauty and history that i saw.
St Paul - one of the oldest and biggest churches around
Heading along 5th Avenue - an area that Lonely Planet calls the millionaire row, i saw beautiful buildings all around.
Next stop was Grand Central Station, i wanted to go admire the famous ceiling of the star constellations. That didn't really happened, the lines and stars were drawn in gold lines against a green backdrop, but it was really slightly hard to see unless you stare at it for a moment. Still, the rest of the station was gorgeous.
After a tedious bag check, i headed into the UN Headquarters ! But i decided to give the tour a skip until the bf was in town.
By now, i was already about 6 hours non stop walking on my feet. Resting at the NY Public Library, and watching the people go by. It was nice with Bryant Park next door.
I saw items belonging to Charles Dickens, Mary Shelley, the Gutenberg Bible. Would love to spend a day here.
The original set of Winnie the Pooh.
On my way back, i headed past the vibrant Times Square.
Vibrant like Black Supremist vibrant and was sprouting some lines from the Bible with their own interpretation. (There was a police car behind them) Hey, freedom of speech
