On our last day in Japan, we spent it at Ueno Park

Our entire trip in Japan ..was busy. Initially, we were both skeptical that a week in any city would bore our minds to mush. After a while, it will be the same old stores, the same old franchises that you come to accustom to in a global city.

Boy, were we wrong. Walking through district by district, place by place, we could not touch beyond what we saw. On our last day, we decided to give up the frantic pace and spend a day at the Tokyo National Museum.

This must be the most decadent instant noodles to date with big, fresh scallop and fish eggs from Tsukiji Market as toppings.

The view from our hotel room in the morning.. We had a good week in a fairly big service apartment. And going to Tokyo in Winter really cut down our expenses for both flight and our hotel

Leaving our room for Ueno Park, we took a slow leisurely stroll across the park, with its temples, assorted museums and the city zoo.

After an hour, we reached the museum .. With its huge collection, our guide books labeled it as a must see ... Definitely was an eye opener..

Around Ueno Park, was a local shopping arcade. Now, i used to think of Tokyo as the land of sky high prices. This was an arcade for the common people, with cheap food stalls and dry goods. It was interesting to see.

We ended the night at Ueno Park with fresh sushi at a cheap local diner.

Did i mention that it was S$1.50 for 2 pieces of tuna belly cheap? Or S$1.50 for a Oyster sushi.

It was my first time with an Oyster sushi. Fresh, with a hint of saltiness. The moment you bite into it, the juicy oyster explodes in your mouth, mingling with the delicious rice. It was a good end to the trip.
