Trip to Mt Fuji

On our third day, we had booked a ryokan hotel at Lake Kawaguchiko with an amazing view of Mt Fuji from JapanIcan , a website run by the Japanese Tourism Board.

Boarding a bus from the Shinjuku station ..

We arrived at the Kawaguchiko Bus Terminal in about 2 hours odd.

Taking a short scenic walk to the lake from the station,

And a hearty udon meal, a local specialty of vegetarian broth and handmade noodles ..

We arrived at our hotel ...

After the sun has set, and we had soaked in the open air hot springs bath with a glorious view of Mt Fuji, we experienced the Japanese fine dining experience.

(Appetizers, there was abalone, and other local delights - beautifully presented)

The famous local pork ... steamed ..

Lobster sashimi ...

Chawamushi .. there was little bits of pork underneath ... yummy

Salmon & Roe wrap ..

Tempura (Yam Ball, Squid with rice, prawn, cabbage, lotus root) - not the normal tempura that you would expect..

Rice with assorted pickles..

Dessert and cheesecake :)
